Founded in 1976 as a directory of available office space in
Northern New Jersey, Black's Guide is now considered "the
bible" of the commercial real estate industry in 8 major
metropolitan areas from coast to coast. In each region the
Guide publishes a comprehensive listing of available office
space. Many regional editions also include listings of
industrial and "flex" space ... buildings that combine
office and industrial or office and warehouse functions.
Some regions cover their industrial markets with separate
editions. All space listings are arranged by sub-markets for
convenience and include:
- building name and address
- name, company, and phone number of the person to
contact
- cross-reference to corresponding map location
- year constructed
- parking ratio
- average floor and building size
- rental rate and add-on costs
- minimum/maximum/total space blocks available
Each regional edition also includes a Professional Directory
section, which lists by category the market's prominent
professional real estate firms, as well as companies that
provide building-related goods and services.
The editorial content of Black's Guide often includes
articles by real estate experts on timely subjects, market
and sub-market overviews, and listings of real estate
transactions consummated since the previous edition was
published. Editorial also includes advice on office floor
plans and layouts.
Most regional editions of Black's Guide are published twice
per year. Some are published quarterly.
